Roman Numeral Date Converter

Convert any calendar date into Roman numerals by turning the day, month, and year into separate standard forms. Label the order clearly so readers know which number is the month.

Numeric order is ambiguous across regions. A string like IV · VII · MMXXVI can mean 7 April 2026 (US month/day order) or 4 July 2026 (day/month order). Always label the sequence you intend.

Formatting tips

  • Convert day (1–31), month (1–12), and year (1–3999) independently, then combine with dots, spaces, or line breaks.
  • Prefer modern IV for 4 unless you intentionally want a clock-style IIII.
  • State Month–Day–Year or Day–Month–Year next to the design whenever both day and month are numerals.
  • Double-check each part with the decoder before printing or engraving.
  • For personal projects, browse the tattoo, wedding, birthday, anniversary, and memorial converters for use-case tips.

Suggested formats

  • Day · Month · Year — VIII · IV · MMXXVI (with an explicit Day–Month–Year label)
  • Month · Day · Year — IV · VIII · MMXXVI (with an explicit Month–Day–Year label)
  • Year only — MMXXVI for inscriptions that do not need day and month
