Roman Numeral Birthday

Turn a birth date into Roman numerals for gifts, artwork, scrapbooks, and keepsakes while keeping day and month order readable.

Birthday gifts travel. A Roman date without an order label can be read two ways when the day and month are both small numbers (for example 02/11 vs 11/02). Add a short label or month name when clarity matters.

Tips

  • Include the full year when the gift should identify a specific birth date, not only a birthday anniversary.
  • For children's rooms or posters, pair Roman numerals with Arabic digits once so young readers can learn both.
  • Watch leading zeros in numeric shorthand—Roman dates do not use zero placeholders.
  • If relatives live abroad, label Month–Day–Year versus Day–Month–Year on the gift note.
  • Use the decoder to verify spellings before ordering custom prints.
